Capturing moments, feelings, emotions and light in the landscape and environment to reflect on, imagine, dream and remember.
Originally from the South Island, I currently live in Mangawhai Heads in Northland with my partner, Gerard (also a photographer) and our two cats, Barbie and Ken (not photographers).
Throughout my life so far, I have had many enriching (and some character building!) experiences in the great outdoors. These experiences have contributed to a deep appreciation of the unique and diverse natural environments found both here in New Zealand and around the planet. I love to be in these natural environments and love to photograph them.
When photographing in these environments, I am immersed in the moment. My brain is thinking only about how I can use the equipment I have to express what I am seeing and feeling. A meditation of sorts! It is for this reason that I often find myself getting up a “crazy o’clock” to see how the sun is going to make its entrance for the day, what I might see and how I might feel.
My hope is that the images I create encourage you to protect the environment, to stop, slow down, and appreciate the moments in life.
